The Heart Failure–Specific Health Literacy Scale (HF-SHLS) was used to measure HL; it was initially developed by Matsuoka et al [33] and Chineseized by Yue Meng et al [34] in 2016. The HF-SHLS consists of 3 dimensions with 12 entries, namely functional HL, interactive HL, and critical HL; each entry ranks from “not applicable” (score of 1) to “very applicable” (score of 4), and the total score ranges between 12‐48, with a higher score representing a higher level of HL.
