Health and Experiences During the COVID-19 Pandemic Among Children and Young People: Analysis of Free-Text Responses From the Children and Young People With Long COVID Study

The questionnaire included demographics, elements of the International Severe Acute Respiratory and Emerging Infection Consortium pediatric COVID-19 questionnaire, and several validated scales (eg, the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire [26]). The questionnaire ended with a final, optional, free-text response question prompting children and young people to “Please use this space if there is anything else you would like to tell us about your health or how the pandemic or lockdown have affected you.”

A Narrative-Gamified Mental Health App (Kuamsha) for Adolescents in Uganda: Mixed Methods Feasibility and Acceptability Study

A Narrative-Gamified Mental Health App (Kuamsha) for Adolescents in Uganda: Mixed Methods Feasibility and Acceptability Study

With this vision in mind, we developed the Kuamsha program, a narrative-gamified mobile app delivering behavioral activation therapy, an evidence-based treatment for depression that has been adapted as a general emotional well-being intervention for adolescents from the general population [23,24]. The Kuamsha app was designed to be supported with weekly phone calls from peer mentors.

An Ecological Momentary Assessment Approach of Environmental Triggers in the Role of Daily Affect, Rumination, and Movement Patterns in Early Alcohol Use Among Healthy Adolescents: Exploratory Study

An Ecological Momentary Assessment Approach of Environmental Triggers in the Role of Daily Affect, Rumination, and Movement Patterns in Early Alcohol Use Among Healthy Adolescents: Exploratory Study

In terms of alcohol use, geospatial measures have successfully been used in app-based alcohol use disorder treatment in adults by sending alerts if patients are near alcohol-related trigger points that are risky places for lapse, relapse, or craving [40-43]. Furthermore, studies have demonstrated that neighborhood disadvantages are associated with increased substance use among adolescents [44], and adolescents tend to consume alcohol in proximity to locations where it is available for purchase [45].

Data Visualization Preferences in Remote Measurement Technology for Individuals Living With Depression, Epilepsy, and Multiple Sclerosis: Qualitative Study

Data Visualization Preferences in Remote Measurement Technology for Individuals Living With Depression, Epilepsy, and Multiple Sclerosis: Qualitative Study

Users have expressed a preference for data visualization that incentivizes and rewards positive health outcomes and behaviors, as opposed to providing negative feedback [16,20] and the ability to customize their visualization experience, for example, altering how often data is presented, and in what format and quantity it is visualized [12,21,22].

Assessing the Role of the Autonomic Nervous System as a Driver of Sleep Quality in Patients With Multiple Sclerosis: Observation Study

Assessing the Role of the Autonomic Nervous System as a Driver of Sleep Quality in Patients With Multiple Sclerosis: Observation Study

The P value for differences in the sex ratio is 0.33. In total, 2 patients with MS (not included in the count of 53) aborted the study. One patient aborted the study because of a medical emergency requiring stationary medical treatment. The other patient aborted the study because of feeling overwhelmed by the study procedure. Otherwise, all participants adhered to the study protocol.

Emerging Indications for Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment: Registry Cohort Study

Emerging Indications for Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment: Registry Cohort Study

Hypoxia and inflammation are part of the pathophysiology for various conditions across a range of medical subspecialties. One approach to relieving hypoxia and reducing inflammation is the use of hyperbaric oxygen (HBO2). HBO2 is 100% oxygen delivered at pressures >1.4 atmospheres absolute (ATA) within a pressurized chamber. Typically, pressures of ≥2.0 ATA are used.

Predicting Long COVID in the National COVID Cohort Collaborative Using Super Learner: Cohort Study

Predicting Long COVID in the National COVID Cohort Collaborative Using Super Learner: Cohort Study

Much remains unknown about PASC, leaving individuals uncertain regarding their risk for PASC and what factors may contribute to this risk. Prediction of individual risk for PASC diagnosis can allow us to identify what populations are at the greatest risk for PASC, and interpretation of these predictors may generate hypotheses regarding underlying drivers of PASC incidence.

Physiological Response to the COVID-19 Vaccine: Insights From a Prospective, Randomized, Single-Blinded, Crossover Trial

Physiological Response to the COVID-19 Vaccine: Insights From a Prospective, Randomized, Single-Blinded, Crossover Trial

In a prospective trial, the COVID-19 Remote Early Detection (COVID-RED) trial [29], we investigated the use of a wrist-worn device for remote early detection of SARS-Co V-2 infections. The trial has been registered at the Netherlands Trial Register (see [29] for details and the study protocol).
