The BY-GIS task consists of a combination of a word task, which is a modified version of the Health Norms Sorting Task [39-41] and a picture task inspired by Gehrt et al [42]. The BY-GIS task is adapted to be appropriate for children and adolescents, featuring gastrointestinal-related stimuli (ie, words related to abdominal symptoms and pictures of food, leisure, and school situations). The BY-GIS task has 3 phases—encoding, free recall, and recognition.
