Prediction of Male Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting Outcomes Using Body Surface Area Weighted Left Ventricular End-diastolic Diameter: Multicenter Retrospective Cohort Study

Body surface area (BSA) is a simple calculation based on the patients’ height and weight [12]. In contemporary cardiovascular care, BSA is used to normalize cardiac output to cardiac index, calculate glomerular filtration rate, is positively associated with blood pressure, and has been shown to be a relatively accurate representation of total body water [13-16].
