Digital Health Interventions to Prevent Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: Systematic Review

This systematic review was conducted and reported following PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) guidelines of 2020 [27]. Details of the PRISMA 2020 checklist are shown in Multimedia Appendix 1 [27]. The protocol of our systematic review was prospectively registered at PROSPERO (International Prospective Register of Systematic Reviews; registration number CRD42024512690).

The protocol is registered with the Open Science Framework since March 21, 2024, and will be updated.

To use the search strategy, the study was conducted based on the systematic literature review manual approach of the National Evidence-based Healthcare Collaborating Agency and the guidelines and flow charts of PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses; see PRISMA checklist in Multimedia Appendix 1). Published data were used in this study and in the preparation of this paper; hence, no ethics approval was required.

The study protocol defines the eligibility criteria for study inclusion, focusing on adult participants, various sound interventions (eg, music, speech, and nature sounds), and stress-related outcomes.

This scoping review followed the PRISMA-Sc R (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses Extension for Scoping Reviews; Multimedia Appendix 1) guidelines [27], and the protocol was registered on the Open Science Framework platform in March 2023 [28]. A search query was carried out on March 16, 2023, and updated on September 16, 2024. It was run in 6 bibliographic databases: CINAHL, Embase, MEDLINE, Psyc INFO, Scopus, and Web of Science.
