Biochemical Changes in Adult Male Gamers During Prolonged Gaming: Pilot Study

Oxford et al [17] reported that cortisol levels increase acutely when gamers compete against friends. The authors suggested that this was typical of male-male competition behavior [17]. While biochemical markers such as blood glucose and cortisol levels have been investigated during the last 2 decades, many biochemical markers pertaining to acute changes in the health of the human body have yet to be investigated.
