Discharge Instruction Reminders Via Text Messages After Benign Gynecologic Surgery: Quasi-Experimental Feasibility Study

Discharge Instruction Reminders Via Text Messages After Benign Gynecologic Surgery: Quasi-Experimental Feasibility Study

In contrast, those in the control group who underwent hysterectomy felt much more connected (22/37, 60%) compared with their counterparts undergoing uterine-sparing procedures (11/38, 29%; P=.008). The third and final question posed to the 62 survey respondents who received text messages during their postoperative survey was “How valuable did you find the text messages while recovering at home?” Of the patients receiving text messaging, 65% (40/62) reported value in the messaging (Figure 3).

Uterine Artery Embolization Versus Hysterectomy in the Treatment of Symptomatic Adenomyosis: Protocol for the Randomized QUESTA Trial

Uterine Artery Embolization Versus Hysterectomy in the Treatment of Symptomatic Adenomyosis: Protocol for the Randomized QUESTA Trial

Randomized data, comparing this new treatment modality with the gold standard (ie, hysterectomy) are lacking though. The “Quality of Life after Embolization vs Hysterectomy in Adenomyosis” (QUESTA) trial was set up to fill this knowledge gap comparing UAE with hysterectomy in patients with symptomatic adenomyosis. In this paper, we present the design of the trial.

Uterine Fundectomy in Patients With Benign Etiology Undergoing Hysterectomy: New Surgical Technique

Uterine Fundectomy in Patients With Benign Etiology Undergoing Hysterectomy: New Surgical Technique

Hysterectomy is the most common surgical procedure in gynecology, not only in cases of malignancies but also in many benign cases, such as uterine fibroids, endometrial hyperplasia, adenomyosis, dysfunctional uterine bleeding, and cervical intraepithelial neoplasia [1]. For benign cases, there are many possible hysterectomy procedures. The surgical technique is selected based on the reason for surgery, the general condition of the patient, and the surgeon’s experience and skills.
