Methods Used in Co-Creation Within the Health CASCADE Co-Creation Database and Gray Literature: Systematic Methods Overview

Methods Used in Co-Creation Within the Health CASCADE Co-Creation Database and Gray Literature: Systematic Methods Overview

Reviews on methods topics, known as methods overviews, are valuable for advancing research methods, making a systematic methods overview the ideal approach for thoroughly investigating methods used in co-creation [25,26,28]. This approach aims to synthesize guidance on methods from the literature; therefore, principles and strategies for a systematic approach were sourced from Gentles et al [25].

Approaches to Evaluating Digital Health Technologies: Scoping Review

Approaches to Evaluating Digital Health Technologies: Scoping Review

In the online version of the e Health evaluation cycle, one can find a synopsis of evaluation approaches (all the methods, study designs, frameworks, and other philosophical approaches) that could be used to evaluate a particular study phase [9]. For example, a “concept mapping study design” can be used to gather information in the conceptual and planning study phase, and an “economic evaluation” can be used in the uptake (implementation) study phase [10].

Measuring Relationship Influences on Romantic Couples’ Cancer-Related Behaviors During the COVID-19 Pandemic: Protocol for a Longitudinal Online Study of Dyads and Cancer Survivors

Measuring Relationship Influences on Romantic Couples’ Cancer-Related Behaviors During the COVID-19 Pandemic: Protocol for a Longitudinal Online Study of Dyads and Cancer Survivors

Dyadic methods can estimate the degree of correspondence (ie, similarity) in health behaviors and behavioral correlates between 2 members of a dyad. These analyses also provide insights into how individuals’ behaviors are influenced by their partners in a way that cannot be accomplished by models that assume participants are independent of one another.

Controlling Inputter Variability in Vignette Studies Assessing Web-Based Symptom Checkers: Evaluation of Current Practice and Recommendations for Isolated Accuracy Metrics

Controlling Inputter Variability in Vignette Studies Assessing Web-Based Symptom Checkers: Evaluation of Current Practice and Recommendations for Isolated Accuracy Metrics

The 2 most frequently used methods of assessing SC performance are clinical studies and simulated patient studies via vignettes [2]. The Food and Drugs Administration and European Union Medical Device Regulation strongly recommend studies involving real patients to evaluate the performance of any medical device before its introduction in the market [4,5]. However, clinical trials have limitations.

Lessons Learned From a Sequential Mixed-Mode Survey Design to Recruit and Collect Data From Case-Control Study Participants: Formative Evaluation

Lessons Learned From a Sequential Mixed-Mode Survey Design to Recruit and Collect Data From Case-Control Study Participants: Formative Evaluation

Given the limited resources and staff at many public health agencies, it is critical to find methods to increase efficiency and reduce the costs of outbreak investigations. Web-based surveys are more time- and cost-efficient than telephone interviews, greatly reducing the workload for health departments.

Patient Engagement With and Perspectives on a Mobile Health Home Spirometry Intervention: Mixed Methods Study

Patient Engagement With and Perspectives on a Mobile Health Home Spirometry Intervention: Mixed Methods Study

With the goal of engaging a higher proportion of patients and improving RPM compliance, we used a mixed methods approach to quantitatively identify the clinical and demographic predictors of patient engagement and conducted qualitative semistructured interviews with patients who had stopped using the home spirometry program after the first month to understand the nuances behind patient drop-off.

Methodological Insights on Recruitment and Retention From a Remote Randomized Controlled Trial Examining the Effectiveness of an Alcohol Reduction App: Descriptive Analysis Study

Methodological Insights on Recruitment and Retention From a Remote Randomized Controlled Trial Examining the Effectiveness of an Alcohol Reduction App: Descriptive Analysis Study

Most participants recruited for this trial reported seeing it advertised on social media (2483/5602, 44.32%), the NHS website (1961/5602, 35.01%), or through radio or newspapers (745/5602, 13.3%), with all other recruitment methods accounting for 7.37% (413/5602) of the sample (Table 2).

Merits and Pitfalls of Social Media as a Platform for Recruitment of Study Participants

Merits and Pitfalls of Social Media as a Platform for Recruitment of Study Participants

In order to understand the ways in which social media has transformed modern study recruitment methods on a more intimate level, an objective comparison of social media and traditional methods is warranted. This review aims to investigate the advantages and disadvantages of using social media as a springboard for more efficient and effective recruitment of study participants.

Design and Implementation of the Surveys of Women: Protocol for an Address-Based Sampling Multimodal Study

Design and Implementation of the Surveys of Women: Protocol for an Address-Based Sampling Multimodal Study

During the baseline survey, households were selected at random using ABS methods, with any 18- to 44-year-old woman in the household eligible to participate. Women from the baseline could opt-in to participate in additional follow-up surveys. The final stage is a second cross-sectional endline survey. For the purpose of this paper, we will address the methodology for the baseline surveys followed by a brief discussion of the follow-up survey methodology.
