Convolutional Neural Network Models for Visual Classification of Pressure Ulcer Stages: Cross-Sectional Study

Traditional staging relies on subjective evaluation by health care providers, often wound nurses, who use guidelines such as the Prevention and Treatment of Pressure Ulcers/Injuries: Clinical Practice Guideline, International Guideline 2019, and divide the PI stage into 6 stages—namely, stages I, II, III, and IV, unstageable, and suspected deep tissue injury (SDTI)—based on visual assessment, such as the color and texture characteristics of the wound bed, wound edges, and skin around the wound [4].

Mobile Health App as an Auxiliary Tool in Management of Atopic Dermatitis in Children: Randomized Controlled Trial

Patient-parent pairs were excluded if they had previous experience with the Atopic App or participation in affiliated online Atopic School program or presence of concomitant skin disease or pathological conditions that may affect the assessment of effectiveness (severe somatic diseases, mental disorders, oncologic or acute infectious diseases, etc) or, regarding participants in groups 2 or 3, avoidance from registration during consecutively 5 days following the screening visit.

Social Media Potential and Impact on Changing Behaviors and Actions in Skin Health Promotion: Systematic Review

The goal is healthy and well-groomed skin. To achieve this goal, health behavior changes must be made. We wanted to draw attention to the role of social media as a tool for collecting data and a tool that encourages users to take actions to care for their skin (including preventing the development of skin cancer and alleviating the symptoms of dermatological diseases). The main parts of skin health preventive measures are promoting skin care, skin protection, and control routines.

Lichen Planus Pigmentosus and Vitiligo in a 61-Year-Old Filipino Man: Case Report

Vitiligo is a rare, chronic disorder that appears in about 1% of the population, causing depigmentation of the skin without preceding inflammation [3]. Although clinically opposite in presentation, autoimmunity has been implicated in these 2 conditions [4]. Pigmentary disorders are a source of psychosocial turmoil and cosmetic disfigurement. The quality of life of patients with LPP and vitiligo was found to be more significantly affected than that of patients with melasma [5].

Primary cutaneous EHE is rare and should prompt suspicion of metastatic disease, especially if multifocal in the skin [4]. Owing to their rarity and similarities to other diagnoses, cutaneous EHE lesions are commonly misdiagnosed [5]. Previous studies suggest the diagnosis of strictly cutaneous EHE incurs a 17% mortality rate at 3 years, highlighting its relatively aggressive nature [6].
