The Association of Macronutrient Consumption and BMI to Exhaled Carbon Dioxide in Lumen Users: Retrospective Real-World Study

The Association of Macronutrient Consumption and BMI to Exhaled Carbon Dioxide in Lumen Users: Retrospective Real-World Study

The Lumen device is a portable breath-analyzer that measures metabolic fuel use through exhaled CO2 and was found to be in agreement with the RER measured by the metabolic cart [17]. Furthermore, Lumen was found to be able to detect different metabolic responses to low- or high-carb lifestyles through CO2 changes [18].

A Handheld Metabolic Device (Lumen) to Measure Fuel Utilization in Healthy Young Adults: Device Validation Study

A Handheld Metabolic Device (Lumen) to Measure Fuel Utilization in Healthy Young Adults: Device Validation Study

A schematic representation of the Lumen device and app. Previous exploratory studies for algorithmic development of Lumen were performed to compare the Lumen measurement to the metabolic cart. In this study, we aim to evaluate agreement between the Lumen measurement and that of the metabolic cart in healthy participants before and after glucose ingestion under stable resting conditions.
