Suboptimal medication adherence is recognized as an independent risk factor for these adverse outcomes. Studies report irregular medication-taking behaviors in 15.5% to 57.5% of kidney transplant recipients, with adherence annually declining by 4.8% after transplantation [4,5]. Poor adherence correlates with a 7-fold increased risk of graft failure, a 3-fold higher risk of mortality and exacerbated health care costs [6].

The optimal dosing of LAs is complex, influenced by a variety of factors including patient-specific characteristics, underlying health conditions, and potential drug interactions [13].
Current methods for LA dose calculation rely heavily on empirical guidelines and clinician expertise, with no standardized recommendations universally adopted [14]. While several mobile apps exist for LA dose calculation, most allow the computation of potentially unsafe doses.

Harm reduction, a public health strategy, seeks to mitigate the adverse effects of drug use without mandating complete cessation [20]. However, media coverage often lacks a comprehensive view of this approach. A study on Canadian news outlets revealed a tendency to focus on singular, controversial harm reduction strategies [21].

In particular, we focus on the incidence of adverse effects related to estrogen suppression and the potential for improved treatment adherence with lower doses. Clarifying the dose-dependent relationship between pain relief and adverse effects may help to individualize hormonal therapy strategies for endometriosis.

A relapse event is defined either clinically, based on persistent neurological symptoms lasting for more than 24 hours, or radiologically, based on new or enlarged white matter lesions on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) [9]. It is coded as a binary disease outcome, with “1” indicating a relapse event and “0” indicating no relapse event.
